Houston Contract Detention Facility
Houston Deportation Defense Lawyer Protecting Your Rights
The Houston Contract Detention Facility (CDF) is one of the immigration detention centers that are located in Houston, Texas. This is a site where immigrants are held while they are waiting for their immigration court proceedings to be carried out and completed. Individuals who are held in this center are usually there because they are at risk of being deported, or removed, from the country. If you or a loved one is being detained in this facility, it is important that you have the right information about the site. Our Houston immigration lawyer at Hira Law PLLC has provided some helpful information below.
Where is the Houston Contract Detention Facility?
The Houston CDF is located at the following address:
15850 Export Plaza Drive

Visiting a Detainee at the Houston CDF
Individuals who visit this site can find parking at the front of the facility, though there is also some street parking nearby. Certain individuals, such as consular officials and clergy members, can meet with detainees at any time. Visits from friends and family, however, are limited to one visit per week, with a limitation of up to one hour. Here are the general hours of visitation at the Houston CDF:
Sundays-Wednesdays: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursdays-Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The visiting hours at the Houston CDF are divided among the detainees depending on their alien registration numbers and whether the individuals are male or female. For this reason, it is best to check the hours with the detainee before visiting.
Questions Concerning Release on Bond
Sometimes, the detainee is eligible to be released from detention on bond. This occurs when someone posts money on the detainee's behalf as a guarantee that the detainee will show up to his or her next designated appointment. You can find out if the detained person is eligible for bond by calling (281) 985-8400. You will need to give the detainee's name and alien registration number to the Deportation Officer, who can then inform you of eligibility. You can also request a bond hearing, where this matter can be decided in immigration court.
