About the Court
In addition to determining whether someone should be permitted to enter the United States (admissibility) or if they are deportable, the immigration judge also has jurisdiction over applications for various forms of relief from removal. Such applications include: asylum, adjustment of status, cancellation of removal and waivers of inadmissibility. Matters before the Houston SPC Immigration Court are overseen by the Honorable Judge Saul Greenstein and the Honorable Judge Lisa Luis. The court administrator for the Houston SPC is Melba J. Bennett.
Filing Court Documents
The Houston Service Processing Center is located at 5520 Greens Road, between J.F. Kennedy and Highway 59 North. Visitors are to enter the building through the front lobby and check in with a CCA officer. Visitors are required to have a valid photo ID.
The court accepts documents for filing between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 pm., Monday through Friday. If you wish to contact the court, please call (281) 594-5600 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. To acquire information after business hours, you can call the automated system at (800) 898-7180.
Court documents can also be filed at the Houston Immigration Court at 600 Jefferson Street, Suite 900, Houston, Texas 77002-7335 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and on Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The window is closed between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. for flings.
Bond requests need to be filed at the Green Roads address in order to expedite the bond hearing and to avoid unnecessary delays.
